Dental emergencies

A well-cared dental patient should "never" have dental emergencies. In general, dental problems take time to develop and they can easily be detected and treated well before they become emergencies. Patients should realize that they can save money and time, and avoid suffering, by scheduling periodic checkups and teeth cleaning. For example, a cavity can be detected years before any symptoms appear. The pain appears when the decay penetrates to the nerve of the tooth. At that point, a root canal and a crown are the solution, whereas the problem could have been resolved with a simple filling had it been detected early. But early detection is only possible if you keep your regularly scheduled appointments and we can perform the regular checkups and prophylactic treatment.
